Business registration in South Africa is done through the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC). The main options are:

  • Private Company (Pty) Ltd – Most common, suitable for local and international clients
  • Sole Proprietorship – For individuals (registered with South African Revenue Service for tax)
  • Partnership – Two or more people (tax registered with SARS)
  • Non-Profit Company (NPC) – For social/community purposes
